Course Concept Note Submission

Crisis Lab steps into the bustling field of professional development with a focus on crisis management, emergency response, business continuity, and public safety. Our mission is to enrich the professional journey of each student by offering engaging, practical, and niche training opportunities. We blend traditional education with the demands of contemporary society, fostering resilience at both individual and institutional levels.

Your role as an instructor is crucial yet straightforward. Our team at CrisisLab will take charge of building the course content. As the esteemed expert, all we ask of you is to review the concept and framework and ensure the utmost accuracy and relevancy of information. You will be asked to provide quality assurance, recommend references, and fine-tune the course outline as needed. Additionally, we'll look to you to record short course videos, which will be part of the different modules of the course.

The development of the initial course is a paid engagement for roughly 5 hours of your time. While we are testing the market with these initial introductory courses, future models will include profit sharing of course sales.

The course topic will be assigned to you by default, based on your area of expertise. We believe that aligning the topic with your proficiency will yield the most enriching learning experience for our students. Of course, instructor feedback is always welcomed as we develop and refine course feedback. Instructors may have multiple courses in CrisisLab based on different topics.

Upon receiving the course framework, instructors should thoroughly review the content to ensure its accuracy and relevance. You can provide feedback, recommend additional references, and suggest any adjustments or additions to module topics. Our team will promptly revise and adapt the course content based on your input.

For an introductory course, instructors are encouraged to recommend at least five or more references to enhance the course material's depth and value. Additionally, instructors can provide a variety of credible references, ranging from books, academic journals, articles, research studies, audio & video materials, etc. that support student learning and professional development.

Each course contains five (5) modules. The first four are divided into short 15-minute videos recorded on Zoom. To maintain high-quality production, instructors are requested to use a good quality microphone and camera. Additionally, we encourage recording in a quiet and learning conducive environment. The final module is a recorded interview and Q&A session with Crisis Lab in order to discuss the topic in a more conversational format.

No, instructors do not need to develop any materials for the course. Our team will take charge of creating the slide deck and handling the post-production of course videos.

We highly encourage instructors to leverage their networks to promote the course. Your endorsement and outreach efforts are instrumental in reaching a diverse group of learners.

Whether it's technical support, content formatting, or addressing any queries, our team will be there to assist you every step of the way. As an instructor you will be assigned a point of contact once you have signed up.

To maintain a structured and timely process, CrisisLab aims to establish a clear timeline for course development. This timeline will be mutually agreed upon, ensuring that all aspects of the course creation, including review, revisions, and video recording, are efficiently managed. Typical introductory courses are normally developed and into post production within 4 weeks.

Our course hosting platform offers a robust and user-friendly environment to monitor course enrollment and student engagement. Based on a periodic review of course insights and feedback on learner participation, introductory courses may lead to additional course offerings or expansion into intermediate and advanced courses. We understand the importance of keeping course content up-to-date and relevant. Instructors will have the opportunity for course updates and revisions, allowing them to continuously enhance the learning experience and stay current with industry trends.

At Crisis Lab, our aim is to collaboratively create educational content with a distinctive international perspective. As an instructor, you will have the opportunity to share your expertise and insights to the course content and framework. But in the process of developing the course, Crisis Lab will contribute its unique international expertise, enriching the course with valuable insights and global context. This international flavor is a crucial aspect of our courses and requires all rights, titles, and interest in the course materials, including presentations, slide decks, videos, transcripts, and lesson summaries, to belong exclusively to Crisis Lab. However, we value and respect the intellectual property of our instructors, and we will work with you to ensure that your contributions are properly acknowledged and attributed within the course materials.

We fully support our instructors in sharing their knowledge and expertise beyond Crisis Lab. You are free to teach related courses elsewhere, and we encourage you to do so.
